Meet the Founder
My name is Asma, founder of Malkani & Co. — a brand born from legacy, resilience, and the dreams of women who dare to want more.
I was born in Pakistan, where some of my most cherished childhood memories were created in a small rural village called Bhakkar. Every year, my family and I would travel there to visit my grandparents. My grandmother lived in a beautiful haveli — a traditional home filled with countless rooms, a large open courtyard, and generations of stories within its walls.
But what inspired me most was not the haveli itself. It was her.
My grandmother was a strong woman — graceful, resilient, and deeply respected. She carried herself with quiet power, and to me, she represented the true meaning of "Malkani": a queen. My mother carries that same strength, and growing up surrounded by women like them shaped the woman I would become.
As a child, my father loved teasing me. My nickname was "Bubbly," and because it started with the letter B, he would jokingly tell me that one day I would marry someone from Bhakkar and spend my whole life there. But I always answered him the same way:
"No, my real name is Asma. It starts with A. I'm going to move to America one day."
At the time, that dream felt impossible. Coming from where we came from, America felt worlds away. But even as a little girl, I carried big dreams in my heart.
Today, I live in the United States with my two beautiful children who were born here — my greatest blessings and the center of my world. When I look back on my journey, I think about that little girl from Pakistan who dreamed beyond what seemed possible, inspired by the strength of the women before her.
Malkani & Co. is more than jewelry to me. It is a tribute to women like my grandmother and my mother — women who endure, lead, sacrifice, and still carry beauty and grace through every season of life.
This brand is for every woman building a life she once only dreamed of.
